Barbeque Anyone?

“What glorious weather – barbeque anyone?  The answer was, course – yes, at Haselbury Mill on 9th June!

119 meals booked, draw prizes bought, entertainment arranged and all ready to go.  What a beautiful evening and the perfect setting for the first Summer BBQ in support of the 2028 MBF Festival.

Good food, good drink and good friends was the order of the day, with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves.  Even the PGM was smiling as people arrived and settled down to be fed and entertained.  Our Michael Bublé tribute act – Russell Jones – was on top form, providing background music as well as song requests.

He even stayed on for some encores until around midnight.  We’re still counting, but it looks like around £900 was raised from the Draw and the Heads & Tails for the magnificent Jamaican Rum Cake donated by V W Bro Jerry Gangadeen, a well-known London Mason and friend.  Thanks to everyone who contributed to the evening, especially RW Bro David Ashbolt who came with his wife to promote the Festival – and, incidentally, surprising Bro Tom Nutt by presenting him with an honorific.
