100 YEARS OF MARK MASONRY CELEBRATED AT BURNHAM ON SEA

The Brethren of William Long Lodge 191 together with the Provincial Grand Master, Deputy Provincial Grand Master and a goodly number of the Provincial Team.

Friday 18th October was a very special evening at the William Long Lodge 191 with the presentation of two long service certificates plus the installation of the new Worshipful Master. Having enjoyed an amazing 60 years in Mark Masonry, VW Bro Geoffrey Nash, Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, was presented with his 60 years Certificate, by our Provincial Grand Master, R W Bro Philip Voisey. The Brethren were very well entertained by both these Brethren as they learned about VW Bro Geoff’s Mark History combined with some fascinating and amused by some interesting stories.

(L to R, front row): W Bro Tony Guthrie, Deputy Provincial Grand Master, R W Bro Philip Voisey, Provincial Grand Master, W Bro Keith Fisher, V W Bro Geoffrey Nash, Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, W Bro Chris Perry our brand new Worshipful Master.

RW Bro Philip Voisey then, very unexpectedly, requested that  W Bro Keith Fisher should be presented to him. The Provincial Grand Master announced that W Bro Keith has now completed 40 years in Mark Mason and presented him with his 40 Years Certificate.

This regular meeting is our Installation. Unfortunately, the Worshipful Master, W Bro Alva Excell had suffered a bad fall a few weeks previously and although nearly recovered, wasn’t well enough to be at Lodge on this occasion. This, however, gave us the opportunity to put V W Bro Geoffrey Nash into the Chair to conduct the Installation Ceremony, which he did with great gusto and aplomb, as he delivered the workings in magnificent form as he put Bro Chris Perry into the Chair. V W Bro Geoff even delivered the Address to the Master as well!!

Following an excellent evening of Masonry in the Temple the Brethren retired to the dining room for a fine meal at the Festive Board.
