Cerdic Royal Ark Mariner Elevation at Chard
A fine evening was had by all at the Chard meeting of Cerdic RAM No 571 last week. Following their recent delegation into Cerdic Mark and subsequent presentation, the first Elevation took place on Wednesday 24th May.
It was the first Elevation ceremony of this year which saw Bro Joesph Ferneaux-Gotch, who is SD in Cerdic Mark, join the Royal Ark Mariner degree in fine and meaningful form.
Bro Joseph also has the pleasure of being stepfather to Junior Deacon Bro Robert Thomas, who is a member of both orders, so a family affair !!
Some 20 brethren witnessed an excellent ceremony, worked by Commander, WBro Norman Crang. Norman was supported by his wardens Bro Ken Crang (his brother!) and acting Junior Warden and visitor, WBro Bryan Foster.
The tools were superbly presented by WBro Mike Nathan and the ceremony was expertly guided by visitor and acting DC, WBro Richard Stone!
The brethren then retired to a lovely festive board with Soup, Lasagne and Treacle Pudding at the Phoenix Hotel, nobody went home hungry, as usual. W.Bro Mike Nathan then distributed prizes following a game, of ‘heads and tails’……though he always had trouble catching the coin !!
