The Somerset Mark Degree holds their Annual General Meeting in fine style

W Bro Julian Bloys and W Bro Cliff Hannabuss receive their long service awards

Over two hundred members of the Somerset Mark Degree assembled at the Webbington Hotel for their Annual General Meeting on Thursday 4th May 2023.

The Provincial Grand Master, R W Bro Phil Voisey welcomed all Somerset members, V I Ps from other provinces, and Members from the Somerset Royal Ark Mariner degree.

With all the mundane items on the agenda concluded those receiving Honours were presented to the Provincial Grand Master and his Deputy, and with over fifty receiving first or past honours this was well conducted.

Having completed most of the agenda the Provincial Grand Master gave his address breaking off at times to make important presentations. First on his list was to present MBF, Vice Patron’s collarette to four recipients, W Bro Tony Guthrie, W Bro Mike Fazackerley, W Bro Dave Smith, & W Bro Chris Jefferies. 

Next was to present two long service awards, the first for 40 years of service to W Bro Cliff Hannabuss and then for 30 years of service to W Bro Julian Bloys. 

After the meeting was closed around 150 headed for the dining room to enjoy good food and company.

The Provincial Grand Master commented, “I was delighted to see so many mark masons attend the Somerset Provincial meeting and I congratulate all those brethren who were either invested or promoted, a special day for you all.”
