Somerdale Lodge celebrates 25 years
In excess of 50 visitors including the complete Provincial Team attended the 25th Anniversary meeting of Somerdale Lodge at which the Provincial Grand Master, himself a founder of the Lodge, took the Chair to perform the ceremony of advancement.
The evening proved to be most enjoyable for members and visitors alike. As a founder member of the Lodge I was delighted to see so many friends old and new joining us to celebrate this milestone in the Lodge’s history.
Somerdale is the first (and only) Lodge of which I am a founder member and I still well remember the experience of Consecrating the Lodge and being invested as one of the first officers. Being a Founder gives you the responsibility of ensuring that the Lodge grows and prospers as well as the satisfaction of knowing that you have done a good job.
The Provincial Grand Master produced a packet of photographs taken at the consecration showing some very young looking masons with plenty of dark hair and moustaches that were not so grey as they are today!
I look forward to being part of the Lodge on its journey towards its 50th Anniversary for as the PGM has been known to remark “it is possibly the best Lodge in the Province”
