Royal Ark Mariner Grand Assembly
On Tuesday 10th December a group of Somerset Royal Ark Mariners headed to London to see W.Bros Steve Pike and Terry Wadman receive their Royal Ark Mariner Grand Rank at the Grand Assembly held in Freemasons Hall, Great Queen Street.
Headed by the Provincial Grand Master, Phil Voisey and his Deputy, Tony Guthrie the group had a very enjoyable day and were able to make Terry and Steve's appointment something special.
The Grand Assembly is quite a short affair as Masonic ceremonies go. The proceedings started at 4.30pm when the processions culminating in the entrance of the Pro Grand Master, M.W.Bro Raymond John Smith who then opened the Grand Assembly. Very soon after that the business moved on to the investiture of just over one hundred brethren with their Grand Rank. After a short address the Pro Grand Master closed the Assembly and retired in procession. Just over an hour from start to finish, a model Masonic ceremony!
The Somerset Group retired to the Connaught Rooms for a very pleasant dinner accompanied by a drop of wine to toast the new recipients of Grand Rank!
