New Mark Lodge at Wedmore
Eleven potential founders held a meeting at Wedmore Masonic Hall on Thursday, 13th August to discuss the idea of forming new daylight Mark Lodge. John Peters whose idea it was to form such a Lodge chaired the meeting.
There was an initial discussion as to the concept of a daylight Mark Lodge, the examples of Sir Isaac Newton Lodge (Craft) and Milliennum Chapter (Rose Croix) being quoted as being very successful daylight Lodges. Having agreed there was a need there was some discussion as to the name of the proposed new Lodge and the Isle of Wedmore Lodge of Mark Master Masons was generally thought to be very suitable.
Potential founding officers were then discussed and the meeting agreed that John Peters would be the founding Master, Peter Layzell the founding Senior Warden and Barry Burridge the founding Junior Warden, Kevin Rees Jones the founding Secretary and Mike Waterman the founding Treasurer.
It was also decided that the Lodge will meet three times a year, on the second Wednesday of May, June and September at 11am, May being the Installation meeting.
It is hoped that if enough founders and prospective candidates can be found the Lodge will be consecrated in May 2010.
More founders are required to meet the Provincial Grand Masters requirements, for more details please contact Kevyn Jones at email@example.com
There will be another meeting for prospective founders at 11am Wednesday 25th November at Wedmore Masonic Hall.
