Else Installation 2009
Installation meeting 17th November 2009It was a wonderful evening at the Else Lodge Installation this November. We were honoured by the presence of our Provincial Grand Master David Nelson together with 37 other visitors; a total of 73 Brethren present.
The incoming Master, Wayne Kelly was presented by his Proposer, Gordon Chenhall, who despite his recent illness and infirmity performed his pleasant duty with great fervour to the delight of all present. Later in the ceremony and as a mark of his long service to Mark Masonry, the PGM personally promoted Gordon to the immediate Rank of Past Provincial Grand Senior Warden, Gordon’s shock and surprise brought a lump to the throat of his many friends present.
The Installing Master, Tony Edwards, assisted by his officers performed a faultless ceremony and in turn Wayne continued that theme with the appointment of his officers and the closing of the Lodge.
This happy evening overflowed into the Festive Board with a special “guess-how-many-coins-in-the-jar competition” the total donated by the brethren towards this totalled £230 with £200 being matched by the Lodge. The £430 was then presented to the PGM towards his two charities, the Hearing (not talking!) Dogs for Deaf People and providing an ECG Monitor to up-date the Wells city ambulance that was donated by the Mark Benevolent fund during 2000. Pat Morriesy.
