Welcome to the Mark News Archive
This year, in Somerset we have been even busier than last year!
With vital assistance from Lodge Almoners we have, so far this year, helped 52 freemasons or their family members through the Masonic Charitable Foundation with grants totalling £170,552.00.
£70,582.00 was provided to support health needs and £92,846.00 was provided in grants for daily living expenses and £7,124.00 was provided to support children with their educational needs. In addition to this we are supporting Somerset brethren and widows in our RMBI Care Homes.
Without the assistance of Lodge Almoners in identifying brethren or their family members in need, none of this would have been possible. The work they do on behalf of lodges is crucial to ensuring the health and well being of our members and their families. Loneliness is becoming the number one problem in our ageing population so that the pastoral work Almoners perform is crucial. Please remember that there is a wide range of useful resources, short videos and downloadable factsheets on the MCF website which will assist you with your work - https://mcf.org.uk/almoner/
Lastly, I would like to wish you and your family a Very Merry Christmas and very Happy and Healthy New Year.
With grateful thanks
Ian & Steve
