Masonic Hall at Midsomer Norton was almost filled with Mark Master Masons who had come to see Roger Penny installed as Master. The principal guest was the Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro John Morgan who was accompanied by W.Bro Graham Howell as his D.C.
Roger Hutchens the Installing Master thanked all the brethren of St Andrew’s for their help in making his year special, three happy meetings, two candidates and some reasonable golf! On behalf of the Lodge he presented a £500 cheque to the Provincial Grand Master for his “Hope for tomorrow appeal”
. He went on to install his successor in fine style.
On taking the chair Roger Penny installed his officers and following the customary addresses closed the Lodge when the brethren retired to the dining room.
The traditional St Andrew’s Installation fayre of Sweet pepper & chorizo soup followed by faggots and mushy peas was enjoyed by all but the sausage eaters! Many thanks to Tony Cooper for his skill in the kitchen!
After the meal John Morgan, PGM thanked the brethren for their contribution to his appeal, the donation had taken the total so far to nearly £10,000 almost two thirds of the way to his target.
