28th March 2017 - Installation night

The Lodge room was full to see Worshipful Master, Andrew Johns install his successor Barry Davies, Provincial Junior Grand Warden in the Craft and Compass Editor in the Chair of the Lodge. Barry went on to install all his officers in fine fashion, using some ritual borrowed from the Craft! It was a pleasure to see no less than 22 Mark Master Masons re-enter the Lodge after the inner workings and salute the Worshipful Master, it shows the Strength of Mendip Mark Lodge.
At the meeting the Lodge Charity Steward David Hillburn gave notice of motion that the Lodge intends to distribute nearly £2000 to local charities and good causes.
The Provincial Grand Junior Warden, W.Bro John Allan was present, representing the Provincial Grand Master, he was accompanied by the Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies, Tony Guthrie.
The ceremony was followed by a festive board at Glastonbury Conservative club.

    Worshipful Master Andrew Johns presided over a well attended meeting of Mendip Mark Lodge on 25th October. The Provincial Grand Master was present to see Andrew and his team preform an excellent ceremony of advancement with Bro Tim Adams as the candidate. Tim’s dad, Michael is the Junior Warden of the Lodge and he was obviously delighted to welcome his son into Mark Masonry and hoped that Tim would reach the Junior Warden’s chair a little sooner than he had himself. Mike was advanced over thirty years ago!

    The ceremony was followed by a festive board at Glastonbury Conservative club.

    This year is a little different as Roger Reina remains in the Chair for a second year. His first was very successful the good ceremonies and candidates. Together with his wife, Roger organised a superb Sunday Lunch for members of the Lodge and their friends at Coxley Vineyard. The PGM and members of the Provincial team were present to see Roger appoint his new officers for the coming year.

    A full house witnessed the Installation of Bro.Roger Reina as the new Worshipful Master of Mendip Lodge No 781 on 22nd March under the eagle eye of W.Bro. Neil Hawes the Provincial Grand Junior Warden representing the Provincial Grand Master. W.Bro. Mike Gagg having performed an excellent Installation, W.Bro. Roger investing his Officers in a very sincere manner, all agreed it was a very happy occasion from entering the Lodge to retiring from the tasty four-course dinner at the Constitutional Club.

    Mendip Lodge MMM No.781 at Glastonbury on 21st May 2010

    The Deputy Provincial Grand Master Ray Guthrie was one of many Mark Master Masons present to watch W.Bro Mike Gagg and his new team perform their fist advancement ceremony. The candidate David Hodges was very impressed as indeed were all the visitors to the Lodge. A festive board afterwards at the nearby Conservative club was enjoyed by all.
